Advisory and Consulting Support

Targeted expertise to strengthen your energy and GHG strategy

Many organizations recognize the need to reduce energy consumption and GHG emissions but lack the internal capacity or clarity to move forward effectively.

Efforts often stall due to unclear priorities, limited data visibility, or difficulty translating high-level goals into operational actions. In other cases, energy management activities are underway but lack structure, consistency, or alignment with broader organizational objectives.

Goldfin provides advisory and consulting support to address these gaps, whether you need strategic direction, targeted analysis, or help advancing specific initiatives.

We work with your team to understand your current state and provide practical, actionable guidance tailored to your organization. This can include:

  • Developing energy and GHG reduction strategies, targets, and roadmaps
  • Assessing current energy management practices and identifying and prioritizing gaps to address
  • Facilitating energy scans to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Integrating energy considerations into standard operating procedures
  • Supporting other targeted energy initiatives
Support can be focused on a specific need or provided on an ongoing basis, depending on your priorities and internal capacity.

The objective is to provide clarity, structure, and momentum so your efforts translate into measurable results.

Case Study:

Goldfin’s advisory and consulting support can be tailored to meet your needs. See the slides below for examples of how we have helped some organizations achieve their goals.

Roseburg
Roseburg MDF was looking for ways to reduce its electricity costs and identify opportunities for greater energy savings.
Goldfin assessed different electricity cost reduction options and conducted an analysis of the most effective combination of demand response, peak management, and energy efficiency projects.
Roseburg is implementing Goldfin’s suggested actions and, having seen the impacts of aggressive utility bill reduction, is continuing to work with Goldfin on additional opportunities.
Unity Health
Unity Health wanted to strengthen their GHG reduction efforts by setting organization-wide targets, but needed help developing them, getting internal approval, and aligning operational and capital plans.
Goldfin provided an overview of what targets others in the healthcare sector were setting, developed guidance on specific aspects of GHG target setting relevant to Unity Health’s situation, and developed a GHG emission reduction roadmap to illustrate how the targets could be achieved.
Unity Health Toronto successfully established GHG reduction targets and is now working to implement large greenhouse gas emissions reduction projects. Goldfin is the independent M&V expert that will provide an impartial review of energy savings reports.
Brock University
Brock University was looking for ways to standardize good energy performance practices and meet process documentation requirements for funding organizations.
Goldfin worked with Brock’s team of sustainability professionals, operators, controllers, project managers and engineers to gather information required to establish or improve building operations Standard Operating Procedures.
Goldfin produced a core Standard Operating Procedure, 1-page work instruction for operators and controllers, and a system for continuous improvement of procedures to facilitate continuous improvements to energy performance.
